Wood Text




  • Set the foreground color to black.
  •  Using Paint Shop Pro's text tool choose a font .( I used 48 pnt. Goudy Stout in these tutorials)
  • Get the graphic Wood4.jpg here.


  • Position your text on the screen and deselect it.

  • Select IMAGE > OTHER > ERODE 5 times
  • Set the foreground color to White.
  •  Using the text tool center the text in the image
  • Select SELECTION > MODIFY > EXPAND (Pixels 5)
  • Select FILE > OPEN load wood4.jpg
  •  Select the fill tool from the tool palette
  •  From the control palette select :
    (Type pattern, Opacity 60) OPTIONS (wood4)
  • Fill the text

  •  Select IMAGE > EFFECTS > CUTOUT
    (Shadow Color white, Opacity 62, Blur 5, Vertical Offset 4, Horizontal Offset 4)

  •  Select IMAGE > EFFECTS > DROP SHADOW
    (Shadow Color black, Opacity 62, Blur 5, Vertical Offset 4, Horizontal Offset 4)
